During last Mother's Day (May 13, 2012), Garibaldi Italian Restaurant and Bar at Bangsar Village I held a Latin Art Exhibition featuring a famous Venezuelan artist, Tony Palacios. The above picture shows the artist and Venezuelan ambassador in Malaysia a few years back for the Venezuelan Week 2008.
I'm lucky to be the photographer of the day, while having the chance to admire the magnificent masterpieces by this talented young man. Garibar, located at the corner overlooking the busy street at Bangsar, is a pleasant place to hangout and I find it relaxing to enjoy the arts here.
There are many happy faces I meet there, all very friendly with smiles craved on their faces.
The themes in his works relate to mysticism, the universe and the world of humans with traces of the sky, stars, planets and outer space. The circle and geometric shapes are central to his works and his use of colours show a power of expression.
Garibar serves each of us bottomless glass of Fruity Cocktail. The sweetness first enters your throat, followed by a burning sensation from the alcohol. You can enjoy the watermelon fruit cuts in it as well.
Some finger food for the guests to munch on.
The bar also places petite servings of Alcoholic Tiramisu for us. Maybe I am just not used to it, because it tastes strong for my liking.
Some filling and very cheesy Canapé would be good for me along with the house specialty sauce. Each piece of sliced baguette bread consists of shrimps and generous amount of cheesy which is served really warm that I can feel the cheese oozing in my mouth immediately!
Brought to you by Tony Palacios.
It's really an eye-opening event (so literally!) and I hope to have more opportunities of being the event photographer in future events! :)
