Courtesy to the hospitality from The Pulai Group, I had an enjoyable holiday at Desaru, Johor. If you have not heard of this place, Desaru is one of the most beautiful unspoiled beaches in the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia! With a 22km stretch of uninterrupted beach, the resort combines panoramic views of the South China Sea with lush tropical rainforests, where I get to unwind and relax during my two days trip there.
Out of the 210 spacious guestrooms, I chose the Standard Superior Room @ RM238 - RM410 (based on seasonal rates), which comes in a blend of contemporary design with elegance. The best thing is, each room has a private balcony overlooking the stunning view of the beach!
Here's the 'unique beach view', with the swimming pool right in front of the beach.
For a more relaxing stay there, the Deluxe Room is probably the next best choice.
For a more relaxing stay there, the Deluxe Room is probably the next best choice.
For a lovey dovey trip, I think this gives you a feeling of your very own private apartment, as this Junior Suite has a main floor and an overhead loft which is accessible by the ladder.

The lobby of the hotel has a very chic and modern look, featuring pool, snooker, kids' room, arcade games, darts as well as comfortable sitting benches for tourists to rest and relax.
Upon entering the Spa Centre, the aroma of soothing lavender envelopes the air. I feel so relaxed in the dimly lit room along with its delicate setting.
The main attraction at Pulai Desaru Beach Resort & Spa is definitely the BEACH!
Gaze at the blue sky while enjoying the breezy wind.
How enjoyable life could be!
What a beautiful beach with pristine and clear water!
Alternatively, the huge swimming pool is where you can have more fun splashing water and swim at your comfortable zones. During this summer time, I went for a glass of orange juice from the bar counter and sunbathing is just as relaxing for me!
In conjunction to the recent promotion, my hotel package comes with a complimentary breakfast buffet at the coffee house, Palm Brasserie, which is only a stone's throw away from the beautiful beach.
The buffet spread for breakfast offers a great varieties of local and western food such as Sauteed Green Peas, Chicken Sausages, Potato O'Brien, French Toast and more. Pick your choice between poached egg or omelette and the chef will cook it right away for you.
The fresh loaves, croissants, danishes and other pastries are beautifully presented in a hand-woven rattan basket. Hmmm...I can sense some goodness here while the buttery aroma wafts out from it.
Of course the local delights must not be a miss for us Malaysians. A simple platter of Fried Mee Hoon is good to kickstart a perfect morning.
As for me, the hot plain porridge when paired with condiments is great to warm the stomach early in the morning. The crunchiness of nuts and anchovies simply lifts the flavours of the broth.
Thinking of Desaru as the next holiday destination? You should start planning early, especially when the rooms sell like hot cakes during the festive seasons. I hope the following guide of transportation helps you :)
