Hotel Review: Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral

Situated within the heart of the central business district of Kuala Lumpur, Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral makes a perfect escapade from the hustle and bustle of the city while remain connected to the city's transport hub and major shopping complexes. 

The rooftop infinity pool overlooking the panoramic view of the city's skyline is the main attraction of the hotel which is also my personal favourite. In fact, I have been there a few times for pool parties and media events. But this time I am staying at Aloft over the weekend and have unlimited access to the pool! Cool, right? 

Loft King Room

Here's my room over the 3-days-2-nights stay at Aloft. Located from Level 5 to 29, Aloft has over 465 rooms including Loft Rooms, Urban Rooms, deluxe Sweet Suite and lastly Breezy Suite, the largest suite in the hotel. 

Featuring a loft-like decor with soaring eleven-foot ceilings, this unique Loft King Room is great to offer unique and fun experience to guests especially those with young hearts. The cool and chic design is simply perfect for the modern travellers.

Before you drift off, you'll want to sink into your cozy king-sized bed and pillow.

All guestrooms are fully equipped with Aloft's signature platform beds, oversized showerheads, mini refrigerator, workstation, safe and a 42" flat-screen LCD TV which transform a sleeping space to a high-tech office cum entertainment centre. 

Did you notice what's on the board up there? 

Every room has different comics, but all are evenly hilarious and entertaining.

During my weekend stay, I manage to enjoy the magnificent night view, while pampering 

myself with some cooling face masks which are already chilled in the fridge for hours. 

For business travelers, Aloft helps you to unwind without affecting your smooth working schedule because there is a working space in each room where you can read the paper and work on laptops. But since this is a casual trip for myself, I utilize the space by putting my luggage there instead.

NOOK Restaurant

Each room comes with a complimentary buffet breakfast at NOOK, the chic all-day dining restaurant that serves both buffet and ala carte menu to satisfy the most discerning palates. Of course I can laze around in my cozy room and head to Nook anytime between 6.30am to 10.30am.

By the way, I have blogged about my dinner at Nook and drinks at Mai Bar once.

Believe it or not, I have 5 consecutive meals at NOOK over the weekend, and I don't feel bored at all, as I am spoilt with a wide varieties of Asian and Western delights from the ala carte menu as well as the daily rotating buffet menu.

Lobby Level

After dinner, if you want to explore the city, feel free to visit the in-touch terminals that offer easy breeze internet access to help you find local information and more. It is located nearby the cool concierge where the staff there are always ready to assist you with anything you need. 

If you feel like staying in, you can chill at the Re:Mix Lounge and grab a drink with friends.

Besides the industrial design elements incorporated throughout the hotel, I love the fine details

in every decor of the hotel that gives patrons a homey feeling at the highest level of comfort.

W XYZ Bar

Designed with bright and bold colours, the signature w xyz℠ bar is designed for guests to mix, meet and mingle over music and cocktails. From a relaxed hangout by day to an electric destination bar by night, it serves popular cocktails including Fresh Green Apple Martini, Espresso Martini, Passion Fruit Pina Colada and Pink Old Fashion.

Happy hours are available Monday to Friday from 5pm to 9pm and on Saturdays and Sundays, from 3pm to 9pm. A variety of indie bands perform live at w xyz℠ bar from 6.30pm to 8.30pm, from Tuesday to Thursday and from 8.30pm to 10.30pm on Fridays. w xyz℠ bar is open daily from 12noon till 12 midnight. 

How about having a game of pool over the chat?

Mai Bar

Located on the 30th level, the Tiki-themed rooftop Mai Bar is another great place to chill after the sumptuous dinner. If luck is on your side, you may experience various live performances as well as the latest tunes produced by exceptional local and internationa; DJ's.

Although I rarely spend my evening with alcohol, I am prompted to try the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral's signature drink, the Malaysian Princess Mai Tai – a divine concoction of rum base infused with blueberries and kaffir leaves served in a highball glass, with separate portions of pineapple & orange juice and grenadine syrup.

For the real enjoyment, I love chilling on the vibrant red and dark wood seating under the colorful LED lights with a bunch of friends. Looking out from the glass door, the party ambiance is further enhanced by the spectacular night city view and the pool. 

Re:Fuel Gourmet Pantry

The evenings spent at Aloft are definitely one of the most relaxing escapade I have. If you feel hungry in the middle of the night, Re:fuel is the right place to go. You can simply pick and choose gourmet sandwiches, local delights, pastries and a range of coffee and tea from the display.

Chocolate, beers, juices, soft drinks, sandwiches and pastries are among the best mood booster for me.

Re:Charge Gymnasium

After rounds of food tasting sessions over the weekend, I need to get back on track as soon as possible, that's why I'm here at Re:Charge. Despite of the space constraint, Re:Charge at Aloft carries many popular equipment that motivates me to do proper workout!

My overall experience of staying at Aloft over the weekend is awesome. It's great to take a break from work, relax and re-energize yourself so that your mind can work better after that! Thank you staff for the great hospitality and delicious food. Now... I have some good news to share with you!
