Review: KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream, Toner, Cleanser

Following the awesome Kiehl's Fun in the Sun Blogger's event, I'm given an opportunity to try out their latest Ultra Facial Oil-Free range. I have always been a happy user of Kiehl's natural beauty products, but this is my time using its oil-free series. Let's see how it works!

But before that, I recall the fun event held at Secret Garden, 1 Utama. Out of so many places, you may ask why is it a garden? Our skin tends to become dry and oily as we sweat, but no worries because this time Kiehl's is here to rescue!

After plenty of outdoor activities, now my skin is feeling oily and thirsty. Time to try on Kiehl's products! 

 

...introducing to you the latest KIEHL'S Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream, Toner, Cleanser

Well, the cleanser and toner are existing products, but Kiehl's just introduces the newest innovation for normal to oily skin types, Oil-Free Gel Cream Fresh Hydration. It's the key towards shine-free complexion and full moisture for 24 hours! 

This series is specially catered for normal to oily skin types.

Enriched with Imperata Cylindrica Root and Lemon Fruit Extracts, Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Cleanser (RM70 / 150ml)is the first oil-free, quick-lathering cleansing foam which visibly reduces excess oil on the skin. Goodbye to all the impurities that land on the skin surface too. 

Step 1: Cleansing

To my delight, I only used a mere 50-cent coin size of cleanser for the entire face. It is almost milk-like, gently but effectively cleansing the skin without over-drying it. Nice refreshing feel after cleansing! Scent wise, it is almost odourless. 

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Toner (RM70 / 250ml)is an oil-free toner formulated to reduce excess oil on skin’s surface. It gently removes residue, dirt and oil without stripping skin of vital moisture to soothe and hydrate skin.

 

Step 2: Toning

Unlike those packed with plenty of alcohol and fragrant oil, the Kiehl's toner is fragrant-free, soothing and doesn't give any stinging sensation at all. Despite of the lack of moisturizing effect, I'd say it's a basic toner that suits all skin types.

*new* Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream (RM100 / 50ml) is an oil-free, quickly-absorbed hydrator that leaves skin balanced. Visibly reduce excess oil on skin’s surface. Re-balances skin barrier for a smoother, fresher appearance.

 

If your skin appears oily (especially T-zone) before midday with clearly visible pores, then the Gel Cream is highly recommended as it takes charge of sebum, shine and moisture levels on your skin. 

Step 3: Moisturizing

I'm impressed that the Gel Cream is so mild and light, almost weightless in a transparent gel texture. Cooling and refreshing, and most importantly, it provides all-day no-shine hydration! A small dollop is sufficient for the entire face, therefore this small bottle can go a long way.

I can see slight improvement on my large pores in 2 weeks too! 

Again, it is free from alcohol and fragrance, so no worries if you have sensitive skin.

It is great as an oil controller, but moisture wise, its sibling does a better job!

For my dry skin condition, I'd use the Gel Cream as a day moisturizer and have Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration (middle) as night cream to ensure better hydration of the skin. It's also an ultra light thirst quencher for the skin, but more towards smoothing and softening dry skin.

In terms of shine control, it really helps alot if you have oily skin. I'd thank Kiehl's for allowing my skin to stay fresh and non-greasy even after a long day out. As for hydration, I need something more effective for my ultra dry skin.

Verdict:

1. Lightweight, scentless and mild on the skin. Just try it for a week, I believe you'd fall in love with them like I do!

2.  If you have oily skin, the Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free 3-steps skin care system will work wonders.

3. Repurchase? Sure! But I'll opt for Kiehl's Ultra Facial Cream Intense Hydration instead of the gel cream.
