BOFE Coffee & Dining @ Section 19, Petaling Jaya

Nestled in the quiet street of Section 19 just adjacent to SS2 is the BOFE Eatery, an abbreviation of Best of Everything. Having the literal meaning of comfort and indulgence, BOFE is a new café that serves great varieties of Asian and fusion delights.

I find that the concept here is pretty much alike to many coffee places. Apart from BOFE set lunch menu, the breakfast/ brunch menu is also worth checking out for, if you usually wake up hungry like a bear. For dinner, the menu is quite extensive ranging from hot and cold entrees to pasta and steak.

Upon entering the café, the simple decors surrounded by white brick walls give a sense of warmth and comfort. The cool-toned sofa and dark wooden furniture add a lovely contrast to the warm tungsten lighting.

Simple and sweet!

#1 Balsamico Mushroom @ RM8.90

For the hot entree, we sample on a platter of sauteed fresh button mushroom served with warm toasted bread. This side dish is equally good to be served hot or at room temperature because the splash of balsamic vinegar lifts up the overall taste of the dish.

#2 Paprika Chicken Soba @ RM8.90

For the cold entree, the huge portion is sufficient to be my main course of the evening! The lightly grilled lean ghicken and baby tomato sit beautifully on a bed of salad and cold soba. Every mouthful is well coated with roasted sesame dressing that lends to the dish.

#3 Salmon Spaghetti Pink Sauce @ RM18.90

When it comes to the pasta selection, the salmon and spaghetti in ebiko sauce is one of the "must-try item" marked on the menu. Unfortunately, the sauce is lacking of good consistency and flavour. Not the worst spaghetti I've tried, but there is plenty of room for improvement here :)

#4 Brownie with Ice Cream @ RM8.90

If you're craving for desserts, BOFE has newly introduced some new cakes-- Mocha Cheese and Lavender Earl Grey which I have yet to try. But I'd recommend their soft brownie served with a scoop of ice cream (Vanilla, chocolate or strawberry).

I particularly love the bread-like texture in the middle of the crunchy brownie and the generous toppings of chopped nuts. So soft that it melts perfectly in the mouth with rich chocolate goodness!

Verdict:
1. Portion wise, BOFE is generous considering the pocket-friendly price on the menu.
2. Great choices for comfort food, but don't expect too much on the quality of pasta selections.
3. A decent place for casual lunch and dinner, or simply just for a coffee date.
