Dine with Discounts at Brotzeit, Bangsar Shopping Centre

Food hunting is very much enjoyable with my foodie friends, but not when it comes to the long queues in most of the popular cafes and restaurants in town. Everyone hates waiting, don't you agree?

.....until recently a foodie introduces me the new Offpeak.my, an online platform that helps diners save money and time when booking great restaurants online. Now we not only can avoid the queues, but also enjoy great discounts on ALL items on the menu!

No, this is not another gimmick that attracts people to dine out. In fact, the mechanism is very simple. Just book a restaurant you prefer, and enjoy dining discounts every day at different hours.

Since there is NO booking fees charged, so I thought why not give it a try?

Let's see how it works! 

Step 1: Sign up / Login via Facebook

You can sign up an account using email, but lazy people like me always prefer to sync sign-up with Facebook.

 Step 2: Pick a Restaurant / Dining Venue 

Browsing on the restaurant list (You can search by restaurant name, location, price and cuisine), I see loads of famous restaurants such as Brotzeit, Fish & Co, EE Cuisine in Eastin Hotel, etc are on board to join Offpeak.my and offer you great discounts at the same time.

You can even decide what to order prior to your visit!

Step 3: Enter dining details 

Like the one I'm visiting today, Brotzeit German Bier Bar and Restaurant is having a 25% OFF promotion from 3.00pm to 6.00pm during weekdays. Now you may want to consider having a late lunch or early dinner there while enjoying 25% discount on all the delicious pork knuckles, ribs, sausages and the rest of the ala carte menu! 

Step 4: Print the booking confirmation

A confirmation email is sent to me as soon as I complete my booking. How efficient it is!

Remember to save it on mobile or print it out and present upon your visit. 

 Step 5: Visit the restaurant!

Two days later... here we are at Brotzeit, BSC! No queuing at all, we enter with the confirmation email and are being seated immediately. Here's a sneak preview on the food we have during the visit; A full review will be up soon on a separate blog post! 

Gebackener Camembert (Breaded Camembert) @ RM38 RM28.5

For the starter, we go for a platter of crusty breaded Camembert cheese with a generous dip of sweet-sour cranberry sauce. The cheese fingers are creamy on the inside, and not too heavy or overwhelming for me. Acceptable for non-cheese lovers. 

 Brezn (Traditional Bavarian Pretzel) @ RM6 RM4.50

Dining at German restaurant is not complete without a piece of home-bake traditional pretzel. The warm soft bread, when served with melting butter, is a great snack before we indulge in the tantalizing main courses. 

Meeresfruchtesalat (Seafood Salad) @ RM30  RM22.50

Apart from the crowd's favourite sausages, Brotzeit offers a great selection of salads for the healthy goers too. The seafood concoction comprising of smoked salmon, seared tuna, prawns, olives, grilled zucchini and orange wedges is perfectly flavourful and refreshing when tossed with sour cream and house dressing.

Great to enjoy my meal with good friends and quality German bier!

To sum up my dining experience via OffPeak.my, here's my verdict:

1. Yay! Skipped the queue, and paid lesser yet being able to enjoy good food.

2. Easy to make booking, and no hidden cost throughout the process.

3. The service in the restaurant was great. Despite of all the discounts I got, the portion of food remained generous and good in quality!
