Korean Apps Wave 2015: Muhibbah Apps Talents From Korea and Malaysia

Annyeonghaseyo~ Do you remember my previous post about some top Korean apps launching in Malaysia? I might not look 'techy' to you, but surely I did not want to miss the Korean Apps Wave 2015 event held few days ago at Pullman Putrajaya Lakeside Hotel. You'll know why shortly....

I was there at the Korean Apps Wave conference with fellow app developers, game enthusiasts and avid fans of mobile technology to learn about the future of mobile apps. It surprised me when the representative from Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) Sdn. Bhd. revealed that Malaysians spent as much as RM60 monthly on the apps, especially games!

Since apps are gaining much popularity worldwide, the guru also shared about how to develop a simple app within 15 minutes! Well, don't be surprised if my blog comes with an app in future, where you can download and navigate easily :D

Having said that, the dynamic mobile market in Korea shows similar trend too. From the quick chat  I had with Mr. Paul Noh, CEO of Ubi-Nuri Inc., the Korean bigger content aggregator, he expressed a very positive thought about the Korean app market development which achieved rapid growth more than 40% over the past year.

Apart from that, the Korean Ambassador, His Excellency Cho Byungjae, together with Dato’ Ng Wan Peng, the COO of MDeC also made special appearance to witness the exclusive showcase of mobile apps that have been carefully hand-picked from Korea and Malaysia.

One of the app developers was explaining his app creation to the duo, during the exhibition.

Among the game, social, communication and educational apps featured during the event, I personally found that some were very useful whereas the rest were entertaining and suitable for all ages.

Interestingly, you can get the Malaysian version of Korean apps via My Appszil, a local appstore that allows localisation and customization of apps especially for educational apps.

BridgeCall-- Free call service that lets you make calls without launching the app itself,
currently available for both Android and iOS devices

Boto the Pink Dolphin-- Educational game app with plenty of interesting characters that wow your kids!

FAMY-- Family Chat and location tracking app for Android and iOS devices

God Summoners-- It's already available for download too. You can even play this strategic game
about mythological heroes and gods, through a smart Samsung TV device.

For more details about the Korean-Malaysian apps featured during the exhibition, just head to my previous blog post and you'll know where to download them from.

Congratulations to the Muhibbah Apps Talent From Korea and Malaysia!

Before this remarkable event came to a close, Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between UbiNuri Inc. (CEO: Paul Noh), My Appszil (Asia) Sdn. Bhd. (CEO: Alfred Tan) and Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) Sdn. Bhd. (COO: Dato’ Ng Wan Peng) in order to collaborate on the promotion and localization of Malaysian apps in Korea; witnessed by the Ambassador, His Excellency Cho Byungjae.

Well done, team! I'd definitely be looking forward to trying out the new apps by you guys!

Overall, kudos to this successful event that brings significance in the mobile apps industry in Korea and Malaysia. All thanks to MOIBA (Mobile Internet Business Association–Korea), Ubi-Nuri Inc. (Korean bigger content aggregator) and My Appszil Asia Sdn Bhd (MASB) with the support by Multimedia Development Corporation (MDeC) Sdn Bhd for giving us such an eye-opening insight!

Let's show some support and download the apps onto your Android and iOS devices!
