Whenever I am in the vicinity of Damansara Uptown, I'd have a hard time deciding on where to dine as I am spoilt with too many choices in this area. But if the craving for good pasta and pizza hits me, I'm sure Frisson is the perfect place to go.
Iced Toasted Hazelnut Latte @ RM12 / Hot Green Tea Latte @ RM12
At Frisson, meaning "excitement" in French, I am thrilled by the wide varieties of hot food, coffee and desserts which are injected with creativity and passion by the owner. The flavoured lattes tend to lean on the sweet side, but they are great accompaniments for the savoury dishes which are served piping hot from the kitchen.
PREMIUM PASTA
Picante Soft-Shell Crab Pasta in Creamy Tomato Sauce @ RM29.90
For first timers, this is definitely a must-try! The house specialty spicy rosemary creamy tomato sauce gives the right consistency to coat every strand of the pasta with mild spiciness. I enjoy how it tastes lightly sweet on the mouth, followed by a punch of spiciness lingering on the palate.
Salmon Pasta in Creamy Tomato Sauce @ RM28.90
If you can't take spiciness, then the salmon pasta in creamy tomato sauce is equally satisfying as the unique homemade sauce which adds a sweet tangy finish to the succulent pan-seared salmon fillet and al dente linguine.
Another noteworthy dish that I personally love is the garlic basil cream-based pasta topped with a generous slab of pan-seared salmon fillet. The roasted garlic aroma is so intense that I can taste it in every mouthful, but it is surprisingly delicious although I am not a fan of garlic.
Beef Striploin Parmigiana @ RM26.90
If seafood is not your thing, there are always other choices of pasta here. In fact, Frisson offers 14 types of pasta (and more to come in future!) to suit the most discerning palate. Certainly you'd find something that you like here :)
For instance, beef lovers would appreciate how well the cheesy beef striploin is executed as it remains tender and pairs well with the minced beef herb sauce.
FRISSON'S SKINNY PIZZA
Beef Pepperoni Pizza @ RM15.90
Next up is the range of Frisson's 8" ultra-thin pizzas topped with parmesan and mozzarella cheese. Similarly, the pizza sauce is made from scratch in-house, so do expect it to be more flavourful and fall on the saltier side.
Norwegian Smoked Salmon Pizza @ RM18.90
I appreciate the use of baked tortilla instead of the carb-dense pizza dough, as it yields a light, crispy outer shell. Perfect for snacking! If you prefer going meatless, Vegetarian Pizza (RM15.90) is available too.
FRISSON'S SPECIAL HEARTY MEALS
Croissant Ala Fusion Chicken @ RM22.90
Don't say I didn't warn you about the wide range of food here! Frisson's special items are worth checking out too, especially during lazy weekend brunch.... because the fluffy scrambled eggs here are so orgasmic!
Especially when it is creatively paired with cubes of 5-spiced chicken breast stuffed within a homemade croissant. I'm glad that the meat is not too dry, yet rich in tumeric flavour that adds an extra kick to the dish.

As for the not-so-typical American breakfast here, I find it extra good with a helping of Frisson's freshly-baked Cranberry Poppy Seed bread. I might have been bored of the ordinary toasts and sourdoughs, so when the soft and warm cranberry poppy seed bread arrives, I love its naturally sweet flavour to bits!
FRISSON'S AFFOGATO
As the finale of the sumptuous meal, I am on cloud nine as I dig into the signature affogato which is served with single shot of espresso (or chocolate, if you are not a coffee drinker) and a scoop of premium Australian ice cream along with different toppings including crushed peanuts, pistachios and walnuts, toasted hazelnut syrup and shaved chocolate.
The layers of texture certainly add better enjoyment to the affogato. And if you prefer something more refreshing, the affogato also comes in peppermint syrup, crushed mint candies and chocolate ice cream.
Frisson's team not only prepares the fresh food from scratch in the kitchen, but also bakes their own cakes! Crumbly pie crust, light creamy cheese, rich flavours of salted caramel and apple bits; How can you resist such a luscious combination?
Overall, Frisson is ideal for any occasions, be it a quick business lunch,
lazy weekend brunch, late afternoon tea and dinner gatherings.

2. Concept wise, Frisson's effort of going great lengths to create its own sauces and innovative recipes using fresh premium ingredients is definitely worth a mention. Thumbs up for the great quality that never fails to delight me!
