Just two weeks after my day trip to Malacca's latest 5D Art Museum, I am back to Malacca again for a short getaway. For convenience sake, I choose to stay at Hatten Hotel Melaka as it is strategically located in the heart of the bustling town of Malacca, just within walking distance from various tourist attractions.
Hatten Hotel is located above Hatten Square, directly opposite Dataran Pahlawan, the modern shopping haven in town. I love how I can easily do my shopping here, and then visit the historical landmarks just by travelling on foot.

The hotel lobby and mall are linked with the carpark where hotel guests can enjoy complimentary parking there. After the quick and easy check-in, I arrive at my room-- A junior suite with a small living area with sofa and LCD TV, separated from the main bedroom area by a full-length glass panel.
A personalized welcome note for the guest is a nice gesture that I appreciate :)
Right next to the relaxing couch is a mini bar counter with fridge and coffee or tea making facilities where I can enjoy a cuppa while slouching on the sofa.
Bathed in rich woodland tones with modern and luxe fittings, the room exudes a sense of comfort and coziness, making me feel like it is a home away from home. There is another LCD TV facing the bed, where I can sink myself between the fluffy pillows and enjoy some late night movies within the room itself.
The complimentary high speed internet here is fairly good, so there will be no issues
for business travellers who may need to stay connected 24/7.
Overlooking the spectacular Malacca coastline, I feel so lucky to be able to stay in a room,
where I can watch the sunrise from the right side, as well as sunset view on my left.
I am very particular about the bathroom each time I travel-- Stains, shabby towels or odour are big no-nos to me. Fortunately, I am very satisfied with the cleanliness and organized setting in Hatten's contemporary marble-finished bathroom. It is well-equipped with toiletries, clean towels, sizable mirror as well as ‘Rain’ and ‘Hand’ showers.
The room is pretty satisfying, so are the rest of the facilities available within the hotel. Nothing beats the enjoyable moment of having an evening swim at the infinity pool with a stunning sunset view while sipping on a glass of chilled juice which is available at the pool bar.
Just take a fleet of stairs next to the pool and you'll arrive at the Gym on 12.
What's better than having workout while enjoying sky high views?
I'd make sure I have burned enough calories before heading to the hotel's Alto Sky Lounge for a dinner under the sky. I spend the rest of the evening at this premium rooftop lounge restaurant and bar, indulging in fine Asian-Western fusion cuisine. Feel free to read about my dining experience: HERE.
The evening ends well with great wine and good companions. On the next morning, I manage to grab a quick breakfast at Chatterz, the all-day dining restaurant which serves complimentary buffet breakfast for in-house guests from 6.30am to 10.30am.
The buffet spread features a mouth-watering range of traditional, contemporary and fusion dishes, and my personal favourites go to the crisp hot Roti Canai, Laksa noodles and fresh pancakes.
What a great start of the day at the delightfully fresh, casual and lively restaurant.
Thank you Hatten Hotel for the great hospitality, I'll certainly be back the next time I visit Malacca!

Verdict:
1. Spacious, clean and cozy room, which is fully-equipped with items that I can't live without, such as full-length mirror, hairdryer and toiletries. I'd be even happier if the Junior Suite is equipped with a bathtub too.
2. Thumbs up to the amazing services from the staff, especially those at the front desk who have been helpful.
3. Reasons to stay at Hatten: Great location, good value for money
