Simmer Huang 黃記煌 – 百年美味 焖于一锅
Yay, Simmer Huang is finally in Malaysia!! After seeing its establishments all around the world including China, US, Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore and more, now it has finally opened its very first restaurant in Malaysia, at Pavilion ELITE Kuala Lumpur.
The restaurant chain was established in Beijing in 2004 and has more than 600 restaurants worldwide now. Following imperial recipes from the Qing Dynasty, Simmer Huang specializes in a unique simmering cooking technique (without using any water!), using medical herbs, vegetables and sauces to come up with nutritionally balanced Chinese dishes.
The secret of success of the simmer pot is said to lie within the ratio of ingredients to the herbs and spices. And the best part is, the meal is cooked right in front of the diners.

Ambiance wise, the classy design and image of the restaurant infused with a modern twist allows the space to exude a grand, sophisticated feel while keeping diners comfortable amidst the luxurious ambiance.
Three Sauce Simmer Pot 黄记皇三汁焖锅
This traditional simmer technique allows the strong flavours of herbs penetrating into the sauce, while retaining the nutritional benefits of the food. I am sure the food will be extra juicy too, can't wait to try it out!
I particularly love hot pot dishes that keep the freshness of the ingredients at the best state,
and the soup is punch packed with robust flavours and aroma. How delicious is that!
Imagine the piping hot aroma coming up the combination of herbs, sauces and meat,
how can you resist that?
To be honest, this is going to be my first time experiencing a unique Chinese "simmered" dishes.
If you would like to try Simmer Huang, don't forget to visit its first outlet at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur!
