Getting Housing Loan for First Timers

At the age of 26, I think it is the right time for me to start making financial plans for the future. I have plenty of peers who have already bought their second and third home, while I….am still planning for the first. Well, I guess it is the peer pressure that becomes my source of motivation when it comes to getting my very first home.

Although there is no concrete plan yet at the moment, I think it would be good to find out more about the housing loan arrangement before I commit. To be honest, all banks in Malaysia offer loan services and it can be a headache on which to choose.

Recently I stumbled upon my blogger friend's blog post that shares about her pleasant experience at CIMB Bandar Utama branch. On a Friday when I was having lunch around that area, I thought why not go in and make some enquiries?

To be honest, I didn’t know that there is such a huge CIMB branch at Wisma BU8, right next to Centrepoint Bandar Utama and a Caltex petrol station. If you are working / staying in the vicinity of Bandar Utama, I am sure this branch would offer the locational convenience you need.

There were not many customers during my visit on a Friday afternoon, and I was so lucky that the person who attended to me is Branch Manager himself and I managed to have a chat with him to understand about how to plan for my house financing considering the amount of commitments I currently have to pay every month from my nett salary.

Overall Experience:

For first timer like myself, there are indeed lots of things I need to learn. Glad to have someone professional here to guide me through without me having to go through much hassles. 

Personally, my past experiences with some banks were not as satisfying and I always have a bad perception that walking into a bank to make queries is a total waste of time. Until my recent visit to CIMB Wisma BU8 branch, I'm relieved that the prompt and friendly customer service and informative staff here are very helpful.

The interior of the two-storey branch is pretty sleek and cosy. While the CIMB preferred banking services are located on the first floor, all the other services for normal customers are available on the ground floor.

Also, I notice that the Old Town Coffee Shop is attached to the bank outlet. While seats are aplenty for customers who are waiting for their turns, perhaps the customers can also hop next door and grab some food first. How convenient it is!
