Hi, Wizards (Wait, where's the witch?)
We are here checking out yet another trending cafe located in the heart of the city. Wizards at the Tribeca seems to have casted its spell onto both early and late risers to flock to the outlet during the golden brunch hours and kickstart the day with a hearty meal.
To me, what attracts me the most is the Instagram-perfect light-filled space that lifts up the mood, along with various seating options including high chairs, comfy sofa and cool marble-topped bar seating area.
Since it is weekend, it feels great to sleep in and enjoy a late lunch here as the brunch menu is available from 10am till 4pm. The brunch menu features a blend of flavours from the West with creative twists from the East. It is good to see a variety of brunch staples such as granola, toasts, big breakfast set, hotcake and even porridge!
We have also found something vegetarian but equally interesting here -- Taro Mish Mash, a carb-loading dish suitable for those waking up feeling peckish. We love how the food presentation is an eye pleaser to us -- chunks of diced avocado pesto, tomato salsa and feta cheese beautifully surrounding the sweet, velvety yam mash spread on the French sourdough.
Unfortunately, I am not a fan of the sourdough as it tends to be dense and rock-hard. Nevertheless, despite of the complexity of ingredients, everything tastes pretty light on the palate; don't expect it to be flavour-packed.
Another noteworthy point is the perfectly-poached egg that appears on almost all tables here. At Wizards, most brunch items just can't run away from the yolk goodness.
While it is nice to have the creamy yolk oozing out from the egg white shell, it is a let-down to us when cold water flows out from the egg and wets the rest of the plate as we fork into it. I hope such misses could be rectified during my next visit.

If you need an instant wake-me-up, coffee staples are available here.
Overall, the brunch fare is fairly good except for few misses in between. I’d probably give it a second chance and sample the dainty desserts during my next visit.
