Let's tuck into a sumptuous Western and fusion meal at Jigger & Shaker!
My weekend food hunting trip in Seremban has led me to this blooming township called Bandar Sri Sendayan, located 50 minutes drive away from Kuala Lumpur to check out this trending restaurant and bar, Jigger & Shaker.
Located on the lower ground floor of d'Tempat Country Club, Jigger & Shaker has been gaining much popularity for its wide range of cocktails, mocktails and western fusion menu that suits the palate for all ages.
During the day, we prefer al fresco dining here for a windy, relaxing experience.
And we are enjoying the swimming pool view from our table.
Despite of the already extensive menu in the house, Jigger & Shaker is introducing a new menu starting from September 2018, and we are here to be the first to sample them.
SOUP
Roasted Pumpkin Soup
We start with the basic, roasted pumpkin soup which may taste too subtle for some. As an opening to our dinner, it is nothing but a simple treat before our taste buds explore further.
APPETIZER
Tropical Fruit Salad
It is always good to kickstart the meal with something healthy, zingy and refreshing. And I like how simple yet delicious it is done here with a medley of crunchy ingredients and sweet fruits.

BBQ Chicken Pizza
PASTA
At every drinking hole, it is important to have pizza for sharing as it pairs well with the liquor. I love how the pizza is generously topped with chunky chicken coated with thick BBQ sauce. Each slice is so meaty that it fills me up easily.
Beef Stroganoff Pasta
As for the pasta, I must say that the chef has really nailed both the sauces - the creamy white wine sauce with tender beef strips and beans, as well as the classic tomato-based sauce with fresh seafood. If you are feeling peckish, these are the go-to dishes.
Linguine al Arabiatta Gamberi
MAINS
J&S Sourdough Sandwich
The most memorable dish, however, is the unique sourdough seafood bowl which is specially invented and baked in-house. Digging into the cheesy cream topping, every spoonful of the seafood in it yields satisfaction down the throat, all thanks to the fresh ingredients and spicy kick from the sauce.
If you are feeling peckish, this is definitely a to-go dish.
Otherwise, communal sharing is recommended.
Seafood Risotto
Like I said earlier, the new menu is really extensive and I am surprised to see a well-executed risotto here too. Classic seafood risotto. A simple yet extravagantly flavoured dish, it's the epitome of soul food!
Australian Grain-fed Surf & Turf
Beef lovers will surely want to try the Surf & Turf as it is easy to slice into and feels tender on the mouth, although I personally prefer my steak to be medium rare for that moist and juicy feeling.
Chicken Chop with Creamy Mustard Sauce
Another meaty option would be the crispy chicken chop served with homemade mash, corn on the cob and creamy mustard sauce. Don't worry, the mustard sauce is not pungent / spicy at all. In fact, it lends a sweet flavour to the chicken chop which makes it a well-loved dish for us.
Beef Burger with Charcoal Bun
Those with huge appetite can sink their teeth into the hearty beef burger. The ingredients are well-layered one after another, and the taste is rich. The homemade beef patty is worth a mention as it simply melts in the mouth.
DESSERT
Cinnamon Roll with Berries and Ice Cream
As for desserts, we are served with a homemade cinnamon roll, served with trio sauces of berries, chocolate and vanilla. To my delight, they serve good bakes too! The cinnamon roll is soft, fluffy and doesn't turn soggy even after a while.
After dinner, customers can always chill by the bar and enjoy a sip or two.
During the evenings of Friday, Saturday and Sunday, there is a live band performance serenading diners with lively upbeats to bring us to relaxed mode after a long week at work.
BEVERAGES
True to its name, Jigger & Shaker is no doubt a specialist in cocktail making,
so be sure to try the alcoholic concoction here!
Grapes and Rosemary Gin and Tonic / Bo-Beries Carafe Cocktail
Be it individual cocktail in glass or sharing portions in jar, there is always something that spices up your evening here. And the best part is, you can always chill till late as the outlet only closes past midnight.
Hibiscus Rose Sparkler / Lemongrass Lychee Cooler
If alcoholic drinks is not your cup of tea, you can choose from the non-alcoholic beverages which are equally creative and suit food pairing and individual taste.
Blueberry Cheesecake Milkshake
For instance, the cheesecake milkshake is a thick blend of cheesecake and blueberries with whipped cream on top. And the perfect pair is no other than a slice of blueberry cheesecake. Cheese overload? Definitely not, if you are a cheesecake lover!
Other than that, you can enjoy Somersby cider here at a cheaper rate all day long!

1. Great place for people staying around Seremban, Melaka or KL to unwind and dine amidst a relaxing ambiance while staying away from the hustles and bustles of the city.
2. Jigger & Shaker's very own repertoire of western fusion menu is very complete, with touches of creativity in between. I am sure you'd find something you like there.
